Michael Deeds: 5 Things You Should Do This Weekend in Boise

1. ROCK CAMEL’S BACK

The 36th annual Hyde Park Street Fair runs Friday through Sunday in Boise’s North End. Tons of bands, crafts, art, food, beer — what else do you want? (More parking close to Camel’s Back Park? Yeah, yeah. You can’t have it all.)

2. FREAK OUT

No, it’s not even close to Halloween. Think of The Haunted World opening Friday like Christmas decorations arriving in stores before Thanksgiving. Or winter beers being released, like, tomorrow. (I’m talkin’ to you, 10 Barrel!) Whatever the case, the Valley’s biggest commercial haunted house is ready to scare you.

3. PRAY FOR SNOW EARLY

Jonesing for ski season? Those partyers at 10 Barrel Brewing Co. — aw, just look at ’em! — will get an early start Friday. It’s the all-day Pray For Snow Winter Ale Launch Party (which is different from the Pray For Snow outdoor bash to be held Dec. 5). Hit the brewpub for ski-lift ticket raffles, food specials to enjoy while pouring down fresh Pray for Snow beer (excellent stuff), ski flicks on the TVs, etc. [More]

4. STAY YOUTHFUL

Whaaat? You missed last weekend’s Egyptian Theatre concert from Boise’s own Youth Lagoon? D’oh! Here’s a free chance to atone for your indie sin with an in-store gig Friday at the Record Exchange.

5. CATCH RASTA VIBES

Don’t let the weekend end. Dance Sunday night away with reggae star Damian “Jr. Gong” Marley, his brother Stephen Marley and three more acts at the Revolution Center. [Tickets]
