Michael Deeds: 5 Things You Should Do This Weekend in Boise

1. IMAGINE ROCKING

Las Vegas rock superstars Imagine Dragons are diggin’ Boise. They’re back for the third time in three years Saturday. Fans will hear bombastic hits such as “Radioactive” and “On Top of the World” at Taco Bell Arena. Concert? These dudes put on a spectacle. Prepare for lasers, kids. [Tickets]

2. JOIN THE CELEBRATION

Late to the Jaialdi party? There’s still plenty of fun to be had, including Basque-ing at Expo Idaho Saturday and Sunday. Tons of dance groups will perform on two stages, plus you’ll find Basque vendors with novelties and souvenirs — and lots of food, of course.

3. FREAK OUT

Artists are about to to spend a week repainting the murals of Freak Alley Gallery in the empty parking lot on Bannock Street between 8th and 9th. You can watch them rattle their cans beginning Saturday. [More]

4. SEE A WIZ

Weed-tokin’ rapper Wiz Khalifa might just have the song of the summer with the Charlie Puth-penned “See You Again.” His performance Friday at Ford Idaho Center Amphitheater also might be the Boise hip-hop show of the summer. When do we ever get rappers outdoors here? [Tickets]

5. CHOW DOWN

The first International Food and Culture Festival will take over Julia Davis Park from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Saturday. You’ll be able to nosh on everything from Indian food and Japanese cuisine to Hawaiian grub. Hands off. Those kalua pig street tacos from Kanak Attack Catering. are mine.
