Michael Deeds: 5 Things You Should Do This Weekend in Boise

1. FLY LIKE AN EAGLE

They’re still on a long run. The Eagles stop at Taco Bell Arena for a concert Sunday night. It’s part of their “History of the Eagles” tour, and you can still get tickets. By the way, Joe Walsh rules. (Hope you didn’t miss his 2012 performance at the Revolution Center.)

2. SHAKE THINGS UP

The Idaho Shakespeare Festival kicks off its season this weekend with “Dial M for Murder.” The weather is supposed to be killer, too. [Tickets]

3. MAKE SURE IT’S ALL GREEK

The Greek Food Festival is happening today and Saturday. Inhale some souvlaki and gyros, baby.

4. TURN IT UP A TAD

Tad Doyle grew up in Boise, moved to Seattle in the late ’80s and wound up with his own touring grunge band, TAD. Anybody remembering see them open for Nirvana at the BSU Pavilion back in the day? (”You know what's really funny about that? Right across the street, I used to play in hardcore bands as a kid at the American Legion Hall,” Doyle told me a few years ago.) His latest project is a sludge-metal trio called Brothers of the Sonic Cloth, which will kindly cave in your skull Saturday at Neurolux.

5. RACE TO KUNA

Something about the smell of burned rubber and the air of a hot day just mate perfectly. Inhale the perfume of horsepower at the Oldies But Goodies Drags on Saturday and Sunday at Firebird Raceway.
