Michael Deeds: Rogue Ales to make stop in Boise today on special beer tour

If your artistic preferences lean toward Shakespeare Oatmeal Stout, or your chosen funeral beverage is Dead Guy Ale, this is your lucky day: The mothership is headed to Boise.

Oregon brewery Rogue Ales will make a pit stop at 5 p.m. today at Twisted Timber, 4563 S. Cloverdale Road. Rogue Nation president “Big” Al Jorgensen — no, not this guy — is on a month-long journey in an RV to help spread the Rogue spirit.

OK, so what exactly is this event? A tap takeover? Here’s the answer I received via email today from the publicist handling the tour:

“It’s more of a mini-festival to celebrate and bring the Rogue Nation spirit to Boise, for Rogue Citizens that don’t get the chance to visit the home and headquarters of the Rogue Nation. It will be Rogue Nation citizens’ first time to meet President Big Al, all at Twisted Timber. There will be six Rogue beers on Tap, Rogue merchandise for sale, great pizza by the slice from Twisted Timbers, Burgerlicious, a local food truck, will be there, prizes and non-citizens will have a chance to be sworn into the Rogue Nation by President Al, himself!”

The party is expected to last about three hours. Seating is limited.
