Michael Deeds: 5 Things You Should Do This Weekend in Boise

1. GO GREEN

It’s time to snag some veggie plants and start gardening. Those organic crazies at Peaceful Belly will get you hyped up. Behold: It’s another “Freaks” video to promote their annual sale the next two weekends. (It’s a sequel to the original video from last year.)

2. BE REDDER (AND BETTER)

Bow down to the Ginger Universe on Friday at the Old Idaho Penitentiary. (My wife and children are redheads. Do I get some sort of VIP pass?)

3. GO COUNTRY

Boise singer-songwriter Andy Byron will celebrate his new album, “The Journey,” with a concert Friday at the Sapphire Room. [Tickets]

4. ROCK SUNDAY NIGHT

Don’t let the weekend end. Jam to Foster the People and their smash, “Pumped Up Kicks,” at the Revolution Center. [Tickets] Or be slightly more adventurous and check out Austin psych-rockers The Bright Light Social Hour at Neurolux. [Tickets]

5. JOIN THE RACE

The Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure is Saturday. Nearly 12,000 runners and walkers are expected to participate in Boise. You can register right up to the event. [More]
