The Western Idaho Fair announced its grandstand entertainment today, and this year nobody can argue – organizers are hitting us with their best shot.
Classic-rocker Pat Benatar will return to the grandstand stage for the first time since 2000, delivering ’80s hits such as “We Belong,” “Love is a Battlefield” and “Hit Me With Your Best Shot.” (If she and guitarist husband Neil Giraldo also perform “Precious Time,” I might have to brave those blazing August temperatures and head to Expo Idaho extra early for a good seat.)
“Every year, we try to get a great mix of rock and country for Western Idaho Fair fans,” Fair Director Bob Batista said in a press release. “We’re very excited about the artists hitting the stage this year. And, as always, concerts are free with gate admission, so everyone is able to enjoy the shows.”
Benatar’s Friday-night show on Aug. 28 will close down the concert series. Here’s what else the grandstand entertainment will offer: Jerrod Neiman, Tuesday, Aug. 25 (country); Theory of a Deadman, Wednesday, Aug. 26 (rock); Gary Allan, Thursday, Aug. 27 (country).
