Tapped In with Michael Deeds: 10 Barrel readies weekend Pray For Snow party

When are the ski resorts gonna open? Downtown Boise’s 10 Barrel Brewing Co. hopes soon, which is why it’s hosting a parking-lot Pray for Snow shindig Dec. 5.

Well, that’s part of the reason. “We just like drinking beer and having fun,” admits 10 Barrel marketing director Bec Milgrom. “Any excuse to have a party.”

On tap: Tasty brews, giveaways, plus live music from Brothers Gow (San Diego) and Boise bands Hollywood Hotel, Jupiter Holiday and Customary Music.

The beer nerd highlight? 10 Barrel will pour a small-tank version of last year’s Pray for Snow winter ale aged for eight months in port, tequila, rum and whiskey barrels. It’s 8.5 percent alcohol by volume, and “it smells amazing,” Milgrom says.

If you go: 5 to 10 p .m. Dec. 5, 10 Barrel Brewing parking lot, 826 W. Bannock St., Boise. Free. All ages.
