Michael Deeds: 5 Things You Should Do This Weekend in Boise

1. GET DIRTY

It’s too late to enter, but it’s not too late to line up and chuck water balloons at people crazy enough to participate in the annual Dirty Dash. About 4,000 revelers are expected to run the obstacle course at Bogus Basin. Filth flies starting at 8 a.m. Saturday.

2. CRASH THE PARTY

The Village at Meridian continues its weekly Friday-night music series with touring cover band The Party Crashers. It’s free and starts tonight at 6:30 p.m.

3. HAVE A LAUGH

Congratulations to the organizers of "Boise’s Funniest Person" for selling out Saturday night’s finals in advance. Don’t have tickets? You’ve still got a weekend comedy option: Paula Poundstone headlines tonight at the Egyptian Theatre. [Tickets]

4. SEE SOME KILLER QUEEN

OK, actually, I haven’t seen it. So I can’t be certain that the touring tribute ”Queen — It’s a Kinda Magic” is truly killer. But the show tonight at the Morrison Center looks like a solid bet for Queen diehards. [Tickets]

5. PLAY BALL

Vancouver is in town for a three-day stand against the Boise Hawks. Games tonight and Saturday start at 7:15 p.m; Sunday’s start time is 12:15 p.m. Finish tonight with a bang — fireworks will be launched after the game. [Tickets]
