Michael Deeds: 5 Things You Should Do This Weekend

Idaho Statesman

1. CELEBRATE FRIDAY

Alive After Five? Yep, that photo at the top is from there; it fires up June 4. But hey, Nampans have their own outdoor party each month, Fourth Friday. And it kicks off off at 5:30 p.m. TODAY.

---

2. HAVE A LAUGH

If concerts aren't enough to lure you to the Sapphire Room, how about laughs? Chicks 'n' Giggles Improv will host a fundraiser for the second annual Idaho Laugh Festival at 7:30 p.m. Saturday. It's $10. And in Downtown Boise, local comedian Heath Harmison is in the midst of a goodbye run this weekend at Liquid Laughs.

---

3. SEE A GOOD MOVIE

It seems rather unlikely, but critics are unanimously praising not only a superhero movie, but a sequel to a sequel to a prequel. (Or something like that.) Whatever the case, the latest "X-Men" flick rocks — '70s style.

---

4. DANCE WITH NO CLOTHES

OK, maybe you'd better stay clothed. Boise has that stupid nudity ordinance. But you CAN go see The Naked and Famous on Saturday at the Knitting Factory. The up-and-coming group opened for Imagine Dragons earlier this year at Taco Bell Arena.

---

5. HEADBANG, DUDE

When the band's name is DevilDriver, there's really no need to explain what it sounds like, right? Headbutt your buddy repeatedly Sunday at the Knitting Factory. (And teach these DevilDriver dudes English. It's "couldn't" care less! "COULDN'T!")
