Five Things You Should Do This Weekend in Boise

Besides wolfing down pancakes at the new Meridian breakfast joint that wants to give Goldy's a run ...

1. COWBOY UP

The 11th annual Pinto Bennett and The Famous Motel Cowboys Reunion descends upon Hannah's saloon today through Sunday. It's a bash. The kind that requires the final day to officially be declared Bloody Mary Sunday.

2. TAP INTO A BARGAIN

On Sunday, Taphouse Pub & Eatery celebrates its second anniversary in Downtown Boise. All 44 beers on tap are $2. TWO BUCKS. Brandon Pritchett will entertain from 2 to 5 p.m. By the way, Taphouse is one of 15 Boise brewski destinations that will be highlighted in the next issue of Beer Advocate magazine.

3. CRAWL AROUND

Boise's fifth annual Crawl Around Downtown brings together all ages for drinks (or not!) in a cruise through eight eateries. The social festivities benefit the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.

4. GET 'REVAMPED'

Boise Art Museum's "Art of Fashion Show" is inspired by the exhibit 'Anna Fidler: Vampires and Wolfmen.' Translation: BAM is ready to get freaky: "Contestants in BAM’s reVAMPED Design Contest will create looks that transform on the runway. With contemporary and vintage fashion, prizes, and live music, this event is not to be missed!"

5. GET OUTDOORS

The citywide, ongoing Unplug and Be Outside continues through the weekend with more outdoor events. You still have a chance to encourage the kids in your life to put down the "Angry Birds" — for a couple of hours, at least.
