It’s official. Summer concerts will be at Hawks stadium again. Here’s the first one

With Outlaw Field and the Ford Idaho Center Amphitheater already announcing summer concerts, Memorial Stadium has been conspicuous in its silence.

Fortunately, the home of the Boise Hawks baseball team officially threw its baseball cap into the ring again today. Southern California fusion-rockers Slightly Stoopid will perform as part of the third annual Summerfield Concerts at Memorial Stadium series, promoter Knitting Factory announced.

The outdoor show on Sunday, Aug. 5, will kick off at 5:30 p.m. with opening acts Stick Figure and Pepper.

It’s the second straight year that Slightly Stoopid will have headlined the Summerfield series. Last year’s shows also included acts such as Odesza, The Shins and Modest Mouse, while the inaugural season brought names such as Leon Bridges, Boston and Lindsey Stirling.

General-admission tickets to Slightly Stoopid go on sale at 10 a.m. Friday, Feb. 23, at TicketWeb. They’ll cost $25 early bird (limited availability), $36 advance and $40 day of show.

There’s also a presale starting at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 21, through the official Slightly Stoopid website and mailing list.
