Raise a toast to yourself, Boise.

We. Are. Awesome.

We’re the nation’s best tippers. Our city is run amazingly well — almost as well as Nampa.

And now Wine Enthusiast magazine — uncorkin’ on readers since 1988 — has published an article proclaiming, “Fast-growing Boise has a wine and food scene to match.”

Several restaurants get shoutouts, including State & Lemp, Bacon and Westside Drive In — exposing out-of-staters to our iconic finger steaks.

(Wait — “bar snack”? Did you REALLY just call Idaho finger steaks a “bar snack,” Wine Enthusiast? Not to point greasy fingers at wine snobs, but finger steaks are a meal of the gods! Best served with cheap, ice cold beer!)

A handful of Boise bars — ranging from proven Downtown veterans (Bittercreek Alehouse) to relative newbies (Press & Pony) — are mentioned for cocktails and craft beer.

And both Garden City and Boise get props for wine destinations such as Cinder Wines and Coiled Wine Bar.

Overall, don’t expect to learn anything new. Most of the descriptions are brief.

But, hey, it’s nice to get that daily workout patting ourselves on the back, right?
