Classic pop, funk and R&B band Earth, Wind & Fire has been booked for a concert at Outlaw Field in Boise, and it’s in “September” — Sunday, Sept. 24, to be precise.

That means the weather will be perfect, right? ( “Never was a cloudy day ...”).

Tickets to the 7:30 p.m. concert at the Idaho Botanical Garden’s outdoor venue go on sale at 10 a.m. Friday for $56 general admission at Ticketmaster. It’s lawn seating, but don’t expect much actual sitting. Expect dancing.

Earth, Wind & Fire’s hits from the 1970s include “September,” “Boogie Wonderland,” “Shining Star,” “Getaway,” “Got to Get You into My Life” and more.

Founder Maurice White, who died in 2016, hadn’t toured with the group in decades. But Earth, Wind & Fire has continued to perform with a combination of older and younger members.

Remaining original musicians include co-vocalist Philip Bailey, bassist Verdine White and percussionist-vocalist Ralph Johnson.
