Inspirational Book Club: 1 p.m. Tuesday, April 19, Meridian Library, 1326 W. Cherry Lane. This month’s book is “I Am Malala” by Malala Yousafzai.

Happy Hour Book Club: 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 19, Rediscovered Books, 180 N. 8th St., Boise. Join us for an evening of books and beverages as we discuss Jacqueline Woodson’s 2014 National Book Award winner, “Brown Girl Dreaming.” Discussion will be lead by Megan Egbert, a writer, reader and librarian. Free; BYOB.

Writing Workshop: 7 p.m. Tuesday, April 19, Boise Public Library, main branch, 715 S. Capitol Blvd. Hands-on program for adult writers who want to share and discuss their work.

The Hiker’s Guide to Idaho’s Sawtooth Country: 7 p.m. Wednesday, April 20, Boise Public Library, main branch. Join Scott Marchant, a Boise-based outdoor photographer and guidebook author, for a presentation on his latest book, “The Hiker’s Guide: Idaho’s Sawtooth Country.”

Mystery Book Club: 6:30 p.m. Thursday, April 21, Meridian Library at Cherry Lane. April spotlights: Victorian-era mysteries.

Yoga Storytime with Sage Yoga: An Earth Day Celebration: 10 a.m. Friday, April 22, Rediscovered Books, Boise. Teachers from Sage Yoga will read from and walk you through a few of our favorite yoga picture books for children. We will explore many yoga poses to get you ready for the day. All ages and parents welcome. Yoga mat not necessary, but please bring one if you’d like.

Friday Book Guild: 1:30 p.m. Friday, April 22, Barnes & Noble, 1315 N. Milwaukee Road, Boise. Join us for a conversation about our latest featured book.

Author event: 6 p.m. Friday, April 22, Barnes & Noble, Boise. Please join us as fan-favorite children’s author Patrick Carman talks about his two newest projects: “Omega Rising,” Book 3 of the “Voyagers” series, and “Fizzopolis.” The event includes a short Q&A session, followed by a signing.

Author event: 11 a.m. Saturday, April 23, Rediscovered Books, Boise. Heather Lee Dyer signs books from her “Recycling Humanity” series.
