Treasure Valley book event calendar: April 10-16

Story times: The Boise, Meridian, Eagle, Garden City, Kuna, Ada, Caldwell and Nampa public libraries offer story programs for children of all ages. Go to their websites and click on the calendar to check out the offerings.

Writers Bloc: 6 p.m. Monday, April 11, Meridian Library, 1326 W. Cherry Lane. Come join a group of fellow writers to collaborate, critique and create together. We will be working on what it means to be writers in the Treasure Valley.

The Cookbook Club: 6 p.m. Monday, April 11, Meridian Library at Cherry Lane. Join us each month as we try fun and delicious recipes from the same book and discuss the many ways you can adjust them to fit your likes. Our cookbooks this month are “Everyday Italian” and “The Italian Cookbook for Beginners.” Register online, and then stop by the Meridian Library at Cherry Lane to peruse this month’s cookbook and select the recipe you want to bring.

Readings and Conversations: 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, April 13, The Egyptian Theatre, 700 W. Main St. Jacqueline Woodson is the 2014 National Book Award Winner for her New York Times best-selling memoir, “Brown Girl Dreaming.” The author of more than two dozen books for young readers, she is a four-time Newbery Honor winner, a recipient of the NAACP Image Award, a three-time National Book Award finalist and a two-time Coretta Scott King Award winner. Author signing: 4 p.m. Friday, April 15, Rediscovered Books, 180 N. 8th St., Boise. Several authors appearing at this year’s Society of Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators Conference at Boise State will take part in a book signing: N.D.
