Book Discussion: Tuesday, Jan. 26, 7 p.m., Boise Public Library at Cole, 7557 W. Ustick. Paula Hawkins’ popular novel, “The Girl on the Train,” debuted last year and is still enthralling readers today. We’ll ponder the characters with questionable motives and the problem with trusting those close to us. Adults only. Light refreshments will be provided.

Book Club for Adults: Wednesday, Jan. 27, 7 p.m., Boise Public Library, Hillcrest branch, 5246 Overland Road. Participants choose a new book each month and meet for lively discussion. All titles are made available for check-out by the Hillcrest library. This month’s selection is “The Big Burn” by Timothy Egan.
