Treasure Valley Book Event Calendar: Aug. 9-15

Story times: The Boise Public Library, Ada Community Libraries, and the Meridian Library District offer many story programs for children of all ages. Go to their websites, www.boisepubliclibrary.org, www.adalib.org or www.mld.org, and click on the calendar to check out the classes.

Partners in Crime: Tuesday, Aug. 11, 7 p.m., Barnes & Noble, Boise. If you’re interested in reading, writing or publishing in the fields of mystery, suspense or true crime, then stop by Partners in Crime. New members are always welcome.

Author event: Rydel Lynch, Wednesday, Aug. 12, 11 a.m., Barnes & Noble, Boise. Rydel Lynch, of pop-rock band R5, is excited to meet her fans and support the launch of her magazine, “Rock Your Life,” as well as her new musical release, “Sometime Last Night,” with a signing at Barnes & Noble.

Book club for 20s and 30s: Wednesday, Aug. 12, 7–8:30 p.m., Boise Public Library, Cole branch. Come having read “Dress Your Family in Corduroy and Denim” by David Sedaris, and be ready for a great discussion. Copies of the book will be available for checkout at the Cole branch circulation desk.

Saturday Storytime: Saturday, Aug. 15, 11 a.m., Barnes & Noble, Boise. Join us for a special storytime featuring one of the most beloved children’s books of all time, “If You Give a Mouse a Cookie,” celebrating its 30th anniversary. Activities to follow.

Find Waldo in Boise: Through Aug. 31. Rediscovered Books in Boise is excited to announce the return of the Find Waldo Local Scavenger Hunt. Stop by Rediscovered Bookstore this month to pick up your Waldo passport detailing the local businesses to visit on your quest to find Waldo. Once you find him, get your passport stamped by any employee working. Throughout the month, there will be prizes, graciously donated by local participating businesses.
