Book events calendar: June 7-13

Storytimes: The Boise Public Library and the Meridian Library District offer many story programs for children of all ages. Go to their websites, www.boisepubliclibrary.org or www.mld.org, and click on the calendar to check out the classes.

Partners in Crime Conversation Book Group: Tuesday, June 9, 7 p.m., Barnes & Noble, Boise. If you’re interested in reading, writing or publishing in the fields of mystery, suspense or true crime, then you should stop by and visit the Partners in Crime. New members are always welcome.

Idaho Authors Community: Tuesday, June 9, 7 p.m., Maui Wowi, Meridian.

Book Club for 20s and 30s: Wednesday, June 10, 7 p.m., Boise Public Library, Cole branch. Whether you’re missing university life or just looking to meet some new people, come join the Cole library’s new book club. Led by a fellow 20-something with a background in literature, this book club generates engaging discussion similar to what you’d find on campus. Come having read this month’s book and be ready for a great discussion. Copies of the book are available for checkout at the Circulation Desk at the Cole library. Children, teens and adults: Are you interested in downloading free e-books and e-audiobooks from the library, but you’re not sure how to get started? Have you tried e-books but would like to become more comfortable using them? Bring your device and your questions, and we’ll help walk you through the process.

Author signing: Local author Colleen Remmers, Saturday, June 13, 11 a.m., Barnes & Noble, Boise. Remmers is the author and illustrator of the children’s book “Be Happy Evie Bear,” a heartwarming story that teaches manners in a positive way.

Saturday Storytime: Saturday, June 13, 11 a.m. Barnes & Noble, Boise. Join us for storytime and activities featuring our book of the month, “Touch the Brightest Star” by Christie Matheson. In this interactive bedtime story, touch, tap, blink and whisper to make magic happen in the nighttime sky.

Author signing: Idaho author Michael Koep, Saturday, June 13, 2 p.m. Barnes & Noble, Boise. Koep’s thriller series, “The Newirth Mythology,” is an action-packed tale spanning seven centuries. His newest book, “Leaves of Fire,” is being released this month.
