Treasure Valley Book Event Calendar: May 31-June 6

Story times: The Boise Public Library and the Meridian Library District offer many story programs for children of all ages. Go to their websites, www.boisepubliclibrary.org or www.mld.org, and click on the calendar to check out the classes.

Summer reading programs: There are various summer reading programs for your children. For more information, visit the Boise Public Library at boisepubliclibrary.org and the Meridian Library District at mld.org.

Summer Reading Book Sale: Friday and Saturday, June 5-6, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Boise Public Library, main branch. Ramp up your summer reading with some great buys from our Friends of the Boise Public Library. They’ll be selling paperback fiction, nonfiction and youth titles, CDs, DVDs and more on the front porch of the library during this two-day sale. All items are 50 cents. Cash or checks preferred.

Saturday Storytime: “Oh, the Places You’ll Go,” by Dr. Seuss, Saturday, June 6, 11 a.m., Barnes & Noble, Boise.

Author event: Saturday, June 6, noon, Owyhee County Historical Society Museum and Library, Murphy. Robert Deen, author of “Owyhee County,” will hold a meet and greet and book signing during the Outpost Days celebration.
