Treasure Valley Book Events Calendar: May 24-29

BLiP Reading Series: “Addicted,” Tuesday, May 26, 7 p.m. at Rediscovered Bookstore, Boise. A reading of local playwright Adam Harrell’s new play.

Adult Book Club: “Ladder of Years,” Tuesday, May 26, 7 p.m., Boise Public Library, Collister branch. Join us for a lively discussion of this month’s title by Anne Tyler. Married with three almost-grown children, Delia Grinstead vanishes from the family’s beach house without a trace – and apparently without a reason. But for Delia, “walking away from it all” is an impulse that will lead her into a new, exciting and unimagined life.

Book Club for Adults: Wednesday, May 27, 7 p.m., Boise Public Library, Hillcrest branch. Participants choose a new book each month and meet for lively discussion. All titles are made available for check-out by the Hillcrest library. This month’s selection is: “All the Light We Cannot See” by Anthony Doerr.

Author event: Elizabeth George, Friday, May 29, 7 p.m., Meridian Library, Cherry Lane. Bestselling author George is touring to promote her new young adult mystery “The Edge of Shadows.” She will read and sign books.

Author event: Robert Deen, Saturday, May 30, 11 a.m., Rediscovered Bookstore, Boise. Local author Deen will sign copies of his new book, “Images of America: Owyhee County.”

Great Reads: Nonfiction, Saturday, May 30, 1 p.m., Boise Public Library, Hillcrest branch. Looking for your next great nonfiction read? Get recommendations from the experts at this month’s Conversations program. Library staff will recommend new and favorite titles from several areas of interest.
