Treasure Valley book event calendar: Oct. 18-24

Story times: The Boise Public Library, Ada Community Libraries, and the Meridian Library District offer many story programs for children of all ages. Go to their websites, www.boisepubliclibrary.org, www.adalib.org, or www.mld.org, and click on the calendar to check out the classes.

Teen Read Week: Tuesday, Oct. 20, 4 p.m. Boise Public Library, Cole branch, for ages 12-17.

Writing Workshop: Tuesday, Oct. 20, 7 p.m., Boise Public Library, main branch. Space is limited. Please contact Lorie at lbroumand@cityofboise.org if you are interested in participating.

Graphic Novel Book Club: Thursday, Oct. 22, 5:30 p.m. Meridian Library, Cherry Lane. This month’s topic: spooky/horror. Select any manga/graphic novel that sends chills up your spine and then come discuss it over pizza. We will be highlighting “Afterlife with Archie” by Roberto Aguirre-Sarcasa. Open to ages 12 and up.

Family Book Club: Thursday, Oct. 22, 6:30 p.m. Meridian Library, Cherry Lane. Every month we highlight one book, encourage families to read it and then come into the library, where games, crafts, snacks and discussion may abound based on the book. This month, we are having fun with “Charlotte’s Web” by E.B. White.

Friday Book Guild: Friday, Oct. 23, 1:30 p.m., Barnes & Noble Bookstore, Boise. Join us on the fourth Friday of each month for an in-depth conversation of our latest featured book.

Special Event Storytime: Saturday, Oct. 24, 11 a.m., Barnes & Noble Bookstore, Boise. Celebrate Halloween with storytime and activities featuring “Click, Clack, Boo!” by Doreen Cronin and Betsy Lewin.
