Share your favorite poem at a Meridian open mic

Writer’s Spotlight: Open Mic: 6-7:30 p.m., Meridian Library, 1326 W. Cherry Lane. Bring an original work, an unsung favorite poem or any brief piece of writing to read aloud at our open mic session. Each writer will be guaranteed five minutes to command the mic and read whatever he or she wants. All material is acceptable to read with the condition that a disclaimer for adult content will be given prior to the reading.

Thursday, Feb. 1

Budding Wordsmiths: 4:30-5:30 p.m., Meridian Library Silverstone branch, 3531 E. Overland Road. For aspiring young writers. Explore the craft and enjoyment of creative writing, eat snacks, play games and make new friends.
