Books & Brews at Bier:Thirty: 7-8:30 p.m. Monday, June 19, Bier:Thirty, 3070 Bown Road, Boise. Enjoy a relaxed chat about books. Guests can come and talk about what they’re reading and hear about what others are enjoying. Facilitated by Boise Public Library staff.

Vox Poplar Writing Project: 10 a.m.-12 p.m. Tuesday, June 20, Boise Public Library at Bown Crossing, 2153 E. Riverwalk Drive, Boise. Join local author Catherine Kyle in working on the Vox Poplar writing installation.

Irene Chandler author event: 6:30-7:30 p.m. Tuesday, June 20, Caldwell Public Library, 1010 Dearborn St. Meet local writer Irene Chandler, author of “Bolt of Lightning: Story of a Stroke Survivor.”

Melodie McBride book signing: 1 p.m. Saturday, June 24, Barnes & Noble, Boise. Melodie McBride, author of “Going Towards the Nature Is Going Towards the Health,” holds advanced yoga certifications from Yoga Vidya Gurukul Ashram/School in Timbak, Nashik, India. She is also a professor at Eastern Idaho Technical Collage and has a triple mastership in Usui/Tibetan/Karuna Reiki through the International Center for Reiki Training.
