Treasure Valley book events include Nick Bruel visit

Story times: Area public libraries offer story programs for children of all ages. Go to their websites and click on the calendar to check out the offerings.

Nick Bruel author event: 4 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 30, Rediscovered Books, 180 N. 8th St., Boise. Nick Bruel, author of the Bad Kitty series of children’s books, will introduce his “Bad Kitty Scaredy Cat” Halloween book. Book signing, reading, activities and free Bad Kitty doughnuts by Guru Donuts for the first 100 kids.

Ramblin’ Readers Walking Club: 10:30-11:30 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 1, Boise Public Library, Hillcrest branch, 5246 W. Overland Road. 30- to 45-minute round-trip walk every Tuesday. Participants should bring suitable footwear and water.

Writer’s Bloc: Prompts and Guided Writing: 6-7 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 2, Meridian Library, 1326 W. Cherry Lane. Come prepared to write and use creative thinking to work on writing prompts.
