You’ll hear new classical works by 208 co-founder and former Boise State University professor David Biedenbender, and composers Alex Shapiro, John Luther Adams and Mason Bates.
Cellist and 208 co-founder Jake Saunders, violinists Geoffrey Hill and violist Emily Jones and pianist Betsi Hodges make up the core of the group. You’ll also hear violinist Kate Jarvis and clarinettist Carmen Izzo.
Though the group isn’t performing a piece by Portland-based composer Christina Rusnak, she will be on hand to talk about how her environment inspires her work.
This concert kicks off 208’s third season.
8 p.m. Friday, Sept. 2, and Saturday, Sept. 3, Ming Studios, 420 W. 6th St., Boise. $15 general, $10 students.
