In the realm of fundraisers Camp Rainbow Gold just raised the bar. The nonprofit that helps hundreds of children with cancer cope with their disease just announced “Shine,” a new fundraiser that will offer an extraordinary chance to experience world-class acts from Cirque du Soleil right here in Boise.
The event also will let people get a feel for what it’s like to attend Camp Rainbow Gold, a magical experience that executive director Elizabeth Lizberg is now happy to share with the magic of Cirque du Soleil.
Lizberg gets to see the power being in nature can have on kids who deal with being sick and feeling different every day of their lives. At Camp Rainbow Gold, they can just be a kid at summer camp. Their disabilities melt away and their abilities shine as they make friends, share their experiences, dress up and have fun together.
The acrobats, jugglers and other circus-arts performers are from Aces of Acts, Cirque du Soleil’s special events company. The night also will feature carnival games, cocktails, dinner and dancing to Utah based-band The Strike.
