Pipa player Changlu Wu will provide the centerpiece for the Boise Philharmonic’s concert this weekend with Han’s Qilian Rhapsody for Pipa and Orchestra, a blend of classical and folk melodies. It’s a great pairing with the Sibelius’ romantic Symphony No. 2. Remember, this is music director Robert Franz’s final season with the Philharmonic. You have just three more chances (including this one) to see him conduct this season.
8 p.m., Friday, Feb. 26, Brandt Center, Northwest Nazarene University, 707 Fern St., Nampa ($22-$43.50), and Saturday, Feb. 27, Morrison Center, 2201 Cesar Chavez Lane, Boise ($23.75-$71.50) BoisePhil.org.
