Art collector John LaBry is opening a new gallery inside Mercantile Building at the 8th Street Marketplace, 404 S. 8th St., suite 166, in Boise. on Wednesday, Dec. 16. The opening reception is from 5 to 9 p.m.

LaBry Fine Art will focus on fine art that is technical and offers an emotional expression, in a mix of prices that range from around $100 to several thousand.

“It’s got to be exceptional art,” LaBry says.

The featured artists will be New Mexico-based painter and sculptor Guilloume Perez-Zapata, Boise painters Geoff Krueger and Tarmo Watia and works on paper by Louisiana-based artist Tom Secrest.

A longtime collector, the gallery is side project and a passion for LaBry, who also works for Micron developing markets for its products.

LaBry is still working out the gallery details, such as hours, and its website is still under construction.
