Boise Dance Co-op tickets are now on sale for the company’s summer concerts

Dance in the summer? How cool is that? Well, thanks to the Boise Dance Co-op, fans of the art can enjoy an interesting and eclectic mix of contemporary and classical styles from dancers across the Treasure Valley in August.

Tickets are now on sale for “A Veritable Smorgasbord of Beauty,” on Aug. 28-29. This year the performances include a shorter children’s matinee.

Ballet Idaho’s Phyllis Rothwell Affrunti, her husband Frank and dancer/choreographer Jason Hartley co-founded the company four years ago to bring Boise’s dance community together to perform and create dance in the off season.

BDC performances are always fun and interesting. You’ll see dancers from Ballet Idaho, Idaho Dance Theatre, LED, Off Center Dance, Project Flux, and other companies, working together in different configurations, performing work by established and emerging choreographers.

Shows are at 8 p.m. Aug. 28 and 29, with a children’s matinee at 2 p.m. Aug. 29. Tickets are $20 general, $30 reserved for evening performances; $5 for 11 and younger, $10 for 12 and older at the matinee. BrownPaperTickets.com.
