Boise’s Myrtle Street will get a new mural thanks to Ballet Idaho

Ballet Idaho has commissioned Boise Creative Center owner and artist Alex Vega for five murals that will cover the empty spaces on the Myrtle Street side of the Esther Simplot Performing Arts Academy Annex, 501 S. 8th St., in Downtown Boise’s Cultural District. It’s the building that houses the company’s offices, main rehearsal space and a performance space.

The murals will feature silhouette images inspired by Ballet Idaho dancers.

Vega founded the Boise Creative Center, 1214 W. Front St., in 2013. He started work on the wall this week.
