Help Mayor Dave Bieter honor people in Boise who are working to make a difference by nominating someone for the 2015 Mayor’s Awards in Art and History.
It’s a biennial award given by the Mayor’s Office and the Department of Arts and History to organizations and individuals who create and work in the arts and history, businesses that support the growth of culture and people and groups who work in arts education.
More than 300 people and organizations have received the award since it was first handed out in 1986.
Last round’s recipients included ceramic artist Kerry Moosman, Boise Contemporary Theater, Friends of Jesus Urquides, Boise Rock School and Treefort Music Fest and arts patroness Esther Simplot for her lifetime support of the arts.
This year, nominations are being taken in:
• Excellence in the Arts for an organization • Excellence in the field of History for an organization • Excellence in the Arts for an individual • Excellence in the field of History for an individual • Business: Support of Culture • Education: Excellence in Arts Education • Education: Excellence in History Education
The deadline as 3 p.m. April 17.
