Boise-raised mosaic artist Blake Edward Sherlock is in town to present a series of steppingstones to the La Tertulia Spanish Learning Center, 2404 W. Bank Drive, Boise. The stones were a commission by the center's supporters. They represent 20 days in the Mayan sacred calendar. Sherlock, who know lives in Guatemala, will install the stones and present them to the center at 6 p.m. Sept. 3 and then at a pot-luck celebration at 7 p.m. at Quarry View Park near the Old Pen, 2150 E. Old Penitentiary Road.
Founded by Guisela Dahruth, La Tertulia is a Spanish language center that promotes bilingualism and multiculturalism through a variety of programs for anyone interested in Spanish language and culture. It opened in May 2014 and offers classes in language for everyone from beginners to native speakers.
