Filmmakers with Idaho roots bring their latest film to The Flicks next week

Filmmakers Russell Friendenberg and Heather Rae return to Idaho next week for the Idaho premiere of their latest film, “Among Ravens.” Produced by Rae and Sun Valley Film Festival co-founder Teddy Grennan, written by Friedenberg and co-directed with Randy Redroad, it was filmed in McCall and Hailey.

The comedy stars Rae and Friedenberg’s daughter Johnny Sequoyah, 11, who became a central character during the film’s making. She was 8 when the film was shot. You can read a story about Johnny in Scene.

Rae grew up in Idaho. She and her husband, Russell Friedenberg, moved here in 2005 when Johnny was 2. They became deeply involved in Idaho’s filmmaking community, a connection the couple has maintained since moving back to Los Angeles in 2010. The production team will be on hand for several Q&A discussions at The Flicks and events throughout the film's Idaho run.
