Two more featured artists join Idaho Statesman's Chalk Art team

Artist and Boise City Department of Arts and History Public Art Manager Karen Bubb and cartoonist and illustrator Scott Pentzer will join the Idaho Statesman's Chalk Art Festival as featured artists.

Bubb is a prolific artist who works in several mediums, including encaustic, stained glass, multimedia sculpture and, of course chalk pastel. This is Bubb's fifth year creating bold and colorful murals at the festival.

This is Pentzer's first time at the festival. He works an a diversity of styles, but always blends a sense of Realism into a comic book drama.

The featured artists we announced earlier are former Disney animator Geoff Everts, Treasure Valley Artists Alliance co-founder Melissa Chambers, Boise artist Lauren T. Kistner and multiple People’s Choice winner Danielle Mierzwa. You can see their work and learn more about them here. We will be announcing more featured artists, prizes and fun features in the coming weeks, so stay tuned.
