Military families can again go to the Boise Art Museum and other cultural institutions for free

Military families can visit several Idaho museums this year for free thanks to Blue Star Museums, a collaboration between the National Endowment for the Arts, Blue Star Families, the Department of Defense and more than 2,000 museums across the country.

This is the fifth year for the program that offers the nation's service members, including National Guard and Reserve, and their families free museum admission from Memorial Day (May 26) through Labor Day (Sept. 1).

The participating Idaho museums are Boise Art Museum, Idaho State Historical Museum and Archives, Old Idaho Penitentiary, the Museum of North Idaho in Coeur d'Alene, The Art Museum of Eastern Idaho in Idaho Falls, the Idaho Museum of Natural History in Pocatello and the Herrett Center for Arts and Sciences in Twin Falls.
