Catch the City of Trees Chamber Series finale this weekend

Violist Jennifer Drake's City of Trees Chamber Music Series wraps up at 2 p.m. Saturday, May 10, at the First Congregational Church, 2201 Woodlawn Ave. Drake is a violist with the Boise Philharmonic and Boise Baroque Orchestra and has been an active part of Boise’s music scene for many years, producing concerts and as part of the now-defunct Darkwood Consort. She runs this chamber series on the side.

For the series finale, City of Trees will play Tchaikovsky's "Souvenir de Florence." It was written in 1890 after the composer visited Florence. This smaller composition by Tchaikovsky packs in all the fireworks of his bigger pieces.

Drake on viola will be joined by Chia Li Ho and Phyllis Saunders on violin, Michael Sabatka on viola, and Jake Saunders and Stephen Mathie on cello.

If you love classical or are classical curious, this is a great chance to hear a lively, rich performance in an intimate setting. It’s free, and donations will be accepted.
