ArtsBeat: Benefit to help crash victim and artist Kay Seurat get a new car

Local jewelry artist and metalsmith Kay Seurat was in an automobile accident earlier this year, and has been left concussed and without a car. A group of her friends and colleagues are throwing a benefit to help Kay get a new car.

It's a jewelry sale — just in time for Mother's Day — from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. May 10 at Karen Klinefelter Studio, 3869 N. Garden Center Way, next to 36th Street Garden Center and Bistro.

You'll find beautiful, wearable art at special prices from artists such as Klinefelter, Melissa Osgood, Barbara Bowling (Louise's Leap), Julie German and others.  They've also set up a Fundly.com account for donations to Kay's car fund.

Seurat is one of the best-known jewelry makers in the Treasure Valley. She's been a fixture at the Capital City Public Market for years. You can find her work now at the new Gallery Five18.
