The Sun Valley Summer Symphony, which runs during July and August, is the largest privately funded free-admission music festival in America.
It brings more than 100 musicians from some of North America’s most respected orchestras to play at the Sun Valley Pavilion under the direction of Alisdair Neale. They back some of the top soloists and vocalists in the world, including Audra McDonald, Itzhak Perlman, pianist Garrick Ohlsson and violinist Joshua Bell.
Teisinger lead the symphony for nine year and oversaw the development of many of its educational programs, including its School of Music and Summer Music Workshops.
The 2016 summer season is in place. Board president Carol Nie will lead a national search for Teisinger’s replacement.
In Vail, Teisinger will be working with artistic director and pianist Anne-Marie McDermott, who performed with the Boise Philharmonic in 2014. Bravo! Vail brings nationally renowned orchestras such as the New York Philharmonic and Dallas Symphony Orchestra to Colorado for week-long residencies.
