Contemporary Idaho Dance Theatre presents ‘Friends and Lovers’ for its season opener

Talk about diversity: The Treasure Valley’s longest-running contemporary dance group, Idaho Dance Theatre, opens its season with a program that ranges from Shakespeare to Cher. Artistic director Marla Hansen, a longtime creative collaborator in the arts community, will present filmmaker Alyssa Tolman’s take on her duet “Home,” filmed at the Boise Depot with Sayoko Knode and Yurek Hansen, pictured. You’ll also see Marla Hansen’s “Friends & Lovers,” performed to one of Shakespeare’s sonnets, and the premiere of a new work featuring the company, by dancer and choreographer Taylor Munson.
