The annual Chair Affair gala celebrates contemporary design

Have an Affaire with design

If you’re a fan of elegant modern style, you’ll love the Chair Affair gala, the annual celebration of line, function and style by Interior Designers of Idaho. You’ll see award-winning pieces – from chairs and tables to desks and cabinets – by student and professional designers from Idaho and across the Northwest. (Last year’s professional design winner, Boise funiture maker Matt Grover’s Lander Chair is pictured.) You’ll also see the annual “ReUse Cup Challenge,” a fun competition for artists, designers and students 12 and younger and anyone who wants to make model furniture out of used paper cups, plastic lids and stir sticks.

7 p.m. April 11, The Owyhee Building, 1109 W. Main St., Boise. $20 general, $15 students at the door. Free for 13 and younger with a paid adult.
