In a pie or off the tree, there’s no bad way to enjoy a cherry, and you can get your fill at the 81st annual Emmett Cherry Festival, a community gathering to celebrate the sweet and tangy fruit. You’ll also find an art show, car show, model train display, petting zoo and carnival. There’s stuff to do all four days, but June 20 is the big one: pie-eating contest at 2 p.m., the Cherry Parade at 6 p.m. and musical headliners Soul Patch at 9:30 p.m.
June 17-20, Emmett City Park, East Main Street and South Johns Avenue. Contests are free to enter. The festival is free to attend. Carnival wrist bands are $30 in advance only until June 17 at local businesses. Call, 365-3485 for more information. EmmettCherryFestival.com.
