This will be the final year for the annual “hippie” festival, but before the Eagle Island Experience floats off into that great commune in the sky, there will be plenty of smiles, live music, arts, crafts, belly dancers, fire dancers and green-friendly booths. Oh, and food vendors and a beer garden. It’s family-friendly, so bring the kids — and let the peace and love flow. That photo from 2002 says it all, right?
10 a.m. to 10 p.m. May 16 and 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. May 17, Eagle Island State Park, 4000 W. Hatchery Road. $5 admission (includes state park fee), free for ages 12 and younger. experiencefestival.org.
