The Nampa Fire Department invites the public to its free Open House Family Fun and Safety Day 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at the Nampa Fire Training Center, 300 W. Railroad Street.
Families can see many fire engines and trucks, firefighter skill demonstrations and several rescue demonstrations, and they can tour the Fire Safe House to practice an escape.
Children will have the opportunity to practice making a 911 call and to meet Smokey Bear and Sparky the Fire Safety Dog.
