Wayne Forrey, who started work less than two months ago as executive director of development services, is no longer a Canyon County employee. Forrey's last day was Friday, county communications director Angie Sillonis said. She said she could not discuss the circumstances of his departure.

Assistant Director Dan Hunter will serve as interim director while the county seeks a new person for the top post. Hunter also served in that capacity after previous executive director Leon Jensen resigned in February.

Forrey's first day on the county payroll was Sept. 7. He was co-owner of urban planning company Pathway Asset LLC and previously served as director of planning and development for Kastera Homes.
