The first graduating class of the Idaho Virtual Academy includes 56 students from 18 different Idaho counties and 27 different cities -- 21 of the graduating seniors were attending IDVA when the high school program began in Fall 2005.
The class of 2009 has an average GPA of 2.967 and average ACA and SAT scores that exceed the state and national average in every category, officials said.
Because IDVA is a statewide school, three graduations will be held in different locations Coeur d'Alene, Idaho Falls and Nampa. State Superintendent of Public Education Tom Luna will speak at the Nampa graduation.
The Idaho Virtual Academy is a tuition-free online public charter school accredited by the Northwest Associations of Accredited Schools, serving 2,500 students in grades K-12.
