Officers are searching for a man accused of hitting his pregnant fiancee in the face, forcing her into handcuffs, holding her against her will, stuffing clothing into her mouth and threatening her with a knife Friday afternoon, according to Garden City police.

About 1:15 p.m. Friday, officers responded to a report of a woman screaming and trying to get away from a man in the 400 block of 46th Avenue, police said.

They found a pregnant woman, 20, with minor injuries to her face, arms and wrists. The man was gone.

A warrant on charges of felony attempted strangulation, felony aggravated battery and 2nd-degree kidnapping was issued by the Ada County Prosecutor's Office for the arrest of Randy Covington, 24. A bond was set at $100,000.

Anyone with information about Covington's whereabouts should call Garden City Police Department at 472-2950 or Crime Stoppers at 343-COPS.
