ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

Coach Gordy Presnell has opted to redshirt freshman walk-on Stephanie Storms and junior transfer Nicole Brady for the season.

Storms is a point guard from Alpharetta, Ga., while Brady is a post player from Vernal, Utah. She played at Salt Lake Community College last season.

That gives the Broncos an 11-player rotation for the season.

Boise State added its second recruit of the early signing period Tuesday when Hill College guard Chris Kupets signed a national letter of intent.

Kupets, a 5-foot-11, 175-pounder, is averaging 16.0 points and 3.0 assists this season at the junior college in Hillsboro, Texas.

Kupets' coach is Swede Trenkle, the son of former College of Southern Idaho coach Fred Trenkle.

"Chris gives us a scoring guard who can play both the one and the two," Boise State coach Greg Graham said. "His ability to play in the open court and score will fit in nicely with our speed game."

Kupets, who went to high school in Athens, Ga., played his freshman year at East Carolina. One of his older sisters, Courtney, won an individual bronze medal in gymnastics at the 2004 Olympics.

Boise State landed its first recruit Monday, signing 7-foot forward Ben Mills from Arrowhead High in Hartland, Wis.

IDAHO MEN LOOK TO BOUNCE BACK

Coach Don Verlin isn't happy with how his team is taking care of the ball.

Idaho has 22 assists and 33 turnovers in two games.

"Our assist-to-turnover ratio will change - I guarantee it," Verlin said. "That's not us and that will not be us."

Idaho went from a 94-87 win at Utah to a 72-65 loss at Texas Southern.

"On Friday night, we probably played as good as we can play at this point of the season," Verlin said. "I saw flashes of this basketball team being not just a good team but a great basketball team in some of the things we did.

"To turn around two nights later and play probably as poorly as we did good (Friday), that has to fall on the coach. I need to get this team mentally ready to play because your level of performance can't change that much."

Idaho reviewed the game film against Texas Southern and will ask the school to modify the stats. The Vandals only were credited with two assists and 18 turnovers. After reviewing the film, they are asking the Tigers to change the numbers to nine assists and 19 turnovers.

BYU KNOCKS OFF IDAHO STATE

Jimmer Fredette and Jackson Emery scored 22 and 19 points, respectively, to lead the Cougars past Idaho State 87-53 Tuesday in Provo, Utah. Amorrow Morgan led Idaho State with 13 points, followed by Deividas Busma with 11.

IDAHO WOMEN STILL ADJUSTING TO LOSS

Idaho lost Derisa Taleni to a season-ending knee injury in the preseason, and the Vandals still are adjusting to life without last year's WAC newcomer of the year.

"She brings so much to our team and brings a certain toughness to our squad that we need inside," coach Jon Newlee said.

Newlee said he needs wings Bianca Cheever and Shaena Kuehu to replace Taleni's rebounding. Rachel Kloke is starting in her place.

"We need to fill her spot by committee - it's been a slower adjustment than I hoped," Newlee said.

The Associated Press contributed to this report.
