MOSCOW - Idaho sat starting quarterback Nathan Enderle for Saturday night's home game against Fresno State because of an apparent arm injury.
The Spokesman Review newspaper, citing an anonymous source, said Enderle suffered a bruised rotator cuff in last week's 35-34 win over Louisiana Tech.
A school spokesperson wouldn't confirm the report and said all injury questions must be addressed to head coach Robb Akey.
Enderle, who played every snap in last week's win over Louisiana Tech, dressed, but didn't take part in pregame passing drills, unless you count the throws he made left handed.
The junior right-hander entered the game as the nation's 10th most efficient passer with a rating of 152.3. He leads the WAC with 267.1 yards per game.
Enderle, a three-year starter, hasn't missed a game since his freshman season when he sat out three games after having surgery on his throwing hand.
Enderle is expected to be ready for next weekend's rivalry game at Boise State.
Sophomore Brian Reader made the first start of his career in Enderle's place. He struggled early, completing only 2-of-10 passes in the first half for for 29 yards.
Reader completed a 14-yard touchdown pass to Max Komar in the third period and ran for a 4-yard score in the fourth.
Redshirt freshman Logan Bushnell is the team's other available quarterback.
NO JOE VANDAL LOGO
Noticeably absent from Idaho's helmets was the "Joe Vandal" decal the team added for last week's game against Louisiana Tech.
A school official said that was a one-time thing for homecoming.
SENESCALL RETURNS,BUTTS STAYS OUT
Senior middle linebacker Paul Senescall, who did not play last week against Louisiana Tech because of a concussion, started against Fresno State.
Meanwhile, cornerback Isaac Butts missed his second game in a row with a hamstring ailment.
Freshman Aaron Grymes started in his place, but he was pulled in favor of Eric Hunter after Grymes was beaten for a touchdown on Fresno State's second possession of the game.
NEW MEXICO BOWLSENDS REPRESENTATIVE
Jeff Siembieda, the executive director of the New Mexico Bowl, was at the Kibbie Dome for the Fresno State game.
The New Mexico Bowl is the second bowl to send a representative to Moscow this season.
The Boise-based Roady's Humanitarian Bowl sent staffers to Idaho's nonconference victory over Colorado State on Oct. 3.
