NAMPA - Some of the top cowboys in the world hit the spotlight at the Snake River Stampede on Wednesday night.
Some lived up to their billing. Others not so much.
Five money leaders, including six-time world all-around champion Trevor Brazile of Decatur, Texas, were in action during the second night of the $411,280 pro rodeo.
Brazile, No. 1 in the all-around standings with $122,749: In the team roping competition, Brazile and his partner Patrick Smith, who were touted as one of the favorites of the night, disappointed fans with a no time on their calf. Brazile came back strong in tie-down roping with a time of 7.6 seconds (overall leader Tyson Durfey had a 7.5 Tuesday night).
Clint Cannon, Waller, Texas, No. 1 in the world standings in bareback riding ($123,377): The bareback rider finished the night with a score of 81. Kaycee Feild of Elk Ridge, Utah, won with an 86.
J.W. Harris, May, Texas, No. 1 in the world standings in bull riding ($136,182): Harris had a no ride Wednesday (only one rider turned in a score).
Jesse Kruse, Great Falls, Mont., No. 1 in the world standings in saddle bronc ($98,458): Scored an impressive 84 - the top score after two days.
Curtis Cassidy, Donalda, Alberta, No. 1 in the world standings in steer wrestling ($77,041): The Canadian cowboy turned in a time of 5.2 seconds (overall leader is Clint Robertson with a 3.9).
