Racing background: Watkins got his start in racing at age 8 in a Bandit at Sandhollow. He won the very first race he entered. "I was kind of scared because I didn't know how fast I was going to go but I was kind of glad once I won," he said. Watkins graduated from a Bandit to a Box Stock and is now in his second season driving a Hot Rod. He finished sixth in the Hot Rod standings last year.
Notable: Watkins has 11 main event wins, including a Tater Cup victory at age 8 in a Bandit and a win in the Topher Classic 50 last weekend in his Hot Rod.
Favorite racing memory: "Probably winning the Tater Cup or the Topher Classic," he said.
Why he races: "Because it's fun and I'm good at it and I like winning," Watkins said.
Racing aspirations: "I want to make it to NASCAR," he said.
Favorite driver: NASCAR Sprint Cup driver Denny Hamlin.
